Skills on Wheels Mobile Tutoring provides after school tutoring for youth between the ages of 5 and 12.
Our mobile learning center is equipped with tutors, computers, desk and other educational supplies to
provide tutoring to at-risk youth in their own communities. Our main goal is to provide free, accessible
tutoring services to underserved youth.
Skills on Wheels strive to:
Increase tutoring access to vulnerable populations by eliminating transportation barriers.
Increase tutoring access to vulnerable populations by eliminating financial barriers.
Improving academic performance for at-risk by providing tutoring services by qualified tutors,
Increase academic success for at-risk youth by providing year-round tutoring through after school and summer academic enhancement programs.
Skills on Wheels connect with managers of high risk communities and develop schedules for the mobile
tutoring bus to park and provide tutoring services. Children can be referred to our program by the parent,
teacher and any other community agency that feel a child could benefit from services. Tutoring services
are provided 1 on 1 and 3 to 1 group settings. Skills on Wheels operate Monday thru Thurs from 2pm to
7pm. During the summer our mobile classrooms coordinate pop-up academic enhancement sites at
neighborhood libraries and recreational centers. Our calendar with locations and time will be posted on our
website.
Children engaged in our tutoring services will perform on or above their grade level.
Children engaged in our tutoring services will be promoted to the next grade.
Children engaged in our tutoring services will demonstrate improvement in end of grade testing.
